If you follow these tips, you will certainly be rewarded with shiny, luxurious hair now and forever!
  1. Eat for your hair.
Your hair is a reflection of your health. Healthy foods feed hair the same way they nourish your body. Hair is an ever-growing tissue affected by our nutrition. A balanced diet, including healthy oils for essential fatty acids, is important for hair health and shine. Make sure you on a regular basis eat foods with levels of protein, zinc, vitamins, and minerals needed for happy hair. Eating them will make your hair grow faster and enhance its radiance. Also watch your stress levels as stress can accelerate shedding of hair.

  3. Do not leave products in for longer than advised.
Some people have a misconception that products will be more effective if they leave them in longer than they should. This can’t be further from the truth. Processing times are set at a certain length because that is all that is needed for the products to do the job. Leaving a product longer ends up damaging the hair making it weak, causing it to break. Be it a relaxer, dye, color or even conditioners, always leave the product in for the recommended time.
  4. Do not use too many products.
Product overload makes hair greasy and unkempt ruining the style you spent time on. The product layering leave your hair dull and still not getting the results you want. The thickness of your hair greatly determines the amount of product you need and when you go overboard with styling products, your hair looks totally messed up. To avoid using too much product, start by using a small amount first and gradually adding more as needed.
  5. Opt for a looser hairstyle.
Whether you are putting your hair in a ponytail, braiding, or even wearing protective styling, you are pulling on your hair in a way. This pulling causes extreme tension from the hairline to the base of the hair and can increase the risk of tension alopecia or hair loss. Try to keep your hair loose to reduce the amount of tension on the scalp. Remember to always keep your edges moisturized. To compensate for that pull-back, try using a product that will make your edges cooperate without having to secure them so tightly and never go to bed with your hair still in a ponytail or clipped back.
